Shapoholics can go on the Atlanta Chic Boutique tour while their sport crazed significant others watch the NCAA Final Four game on April 6th.  Don’t miss the Artmore Courtyard Kickoff Party that is sure to be an amazing event. As of today we already have over 100 RSVPs, don’t be the one at the office who wasn’t at the best party of the month!  Comic Bill Burr will also be in town on April 13th. He is performing at The Tabernacle!  Both Taylor Swift and Rihanna are in town this month at Phillips Arena gracing the great Peach State.  You know that we love our four legged friends and that we are a pet friendly hotel but don’t be fooled the Dogwood Festival has absolutely nothing to do with animals!  This arts festival is held in Piedmont Park which is a beautiful walk from the Artmore Hotel.

Dixie Classic Festival | Atlanta, Georgia

Back in 1983 the Dixie Classic Festivals were formed. The festival is open to all performance arts groups including (concert, band, choir and orchestra). This type of open festival is to inspire the growth and artistic expression. Although the festival gives out awards it is purely on a non-competitive basis.They are judged by a group of nationally known adjudicators.

Atlanta happens to be one of the six locations for the festival this year. Hickory High School Orchestra from Chesapeake, VA will be performing in the Dixie Classic Festival on Friday, April 12th. They are staying at Artmore Hotel this weekend and we couldn’t be more excited. We wish them luck and applaud them for their dedication to the Arts. We are sure they will receive many accolades and hope to see them back next year.

Atlanta Happy Hours | Announcing: Beer Mondays!

Spring has sprung! What better way to enjoy spring in Midtown Atlanta then with a fabulous beer happy hour at the Artmore Courtyard?  Enjoy two for one beers on Mondays from 5pm to 7pm.  An even better idea would be to bring your friends too.  In fact, bring them all!!!!  What should we call it, Springtoberfest Mondays, Hoppy Hour or just plain awesome?

St. Patrick’s Day

Top of the mornin to yall!! Hope you are wearing green laddie, because St. Patty’s day is right around the corner. There is nothing better than to show your holiday spirit by going to the biggest St. Patty’s day party of the year! Social Mess will be hosting their 4th annual Lepre*CON party hosting over 500 people at Park Tavern.  This event will be full of contests, dance parties with renowned DJ (RIP MCA) – DJ Hurricane who know how to make your experience the most eventful. This annual party is one you do not want to miss, not only will you dance and meet new people, but you might event become Irish by the end of the night.

 Here at the Artmore we are supportive of many festivals. St. Patrick’s Day is a momentous occasion that holds tradition to those all over the world. Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival | Atlanta Station

Who is ready for a finger licking, bourbon drinking good time? That’s right, The Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ festival is right around the corner. As you stroll from table to table you will be invited to try the forty different bourbons and sixty different beers on tap. Once you have explored the different alcoholic beverages available, visit the other tents for tasty BBQ that will ignite your taste buds. This great event offers a special experience through buying their VIP tickets which allows you to enter their event two hours early, get access to special tastings of bacon, whole hog BBQ, and give you access to special bathrooms and seating. Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics, and Painting | High Museum of Art

“I never paint dreams, I painted my own reality, I paint whatever passes through my mind without any other consideration.” This quote by Frida Kahlo not only explains her paintings but the passion of her culture in the 1900’s.  For the first and only time in 2013, “Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics, and Painting,” will be exhibiting key paintings by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. These rare paintings tell the story of an artist during a troubling time of the Mexican Revolution and an inspiring time of the Mexican Renaissance. Frida and Diego’s art shows true passion for their country and cultural traditions of the lower class.  Frida’s culture focused paintings gives insight to her personal beliefs and the passion of keeping the Mexican culture during the Mexican Revolution.

This exhibition will feature February 14, 2013 – May 12, 2013 only at the High Museum of Art and this will be the only exhibition in the United States. The exhibition features many paintings drawn from Mexico’s Dolores Olmedo collection as well as Jazques and Natasha Gelman collection of Mexican Art. If you are looking to be surrounded by culture in one of Mexico’s renowned painters in the 20th century, this exhibition would not be one to miss.

February Events

There are so many things to do in this great city and the Artmore Midtown Atlanta Hotel is in the middle of all the action. Only for a limited time will there be such amazing performances at the Fox Theatre such as the amazing comedian, Louis C.K. (February 2nd) and iconic musicals such as Flashdance (February 5th through 10th) and Fela! (February 28th through March 3rd) Not to mention that the Artmore Hotel is only a short 5 minutes away from the Fox Theatre.

Speaking of music, if you would rather go to a concert, there are many musical acts coming to town such as the Georgia State University Symphony Orchestra at the Rialto Center (February 10th through March 3rd), Corey Smith at The Tabernacle (February 23rd), and the one and only Bon Jovi will be at the Philips Arena on February 27th.

Valentine’s Day is also coming up. What better way to spend it than with a relaxing getaway to Valentines in the Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, followed by a romantic night at The Artmore Hotel. All of this leading up to a day at the Theatre with the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre at the Fox – the perfect gift for that special someone.
